Interesting development in that case against a pair of Colorado snowboarders who triggered an avalanche that shutdown Interstate 70 last year.  The snowboarders involved voluntarily submitted a report of the slide to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center along with GoPro footage of the incident. CAIC was called to testify in the upcoming trial but Colorado Attorney General Philip J. Weiser stepped in and filed a motion to quash their involvement. He’s worried that bringing CAIC into the legal proceedings will discourage future disclosures from people involved in avalanches and be a net negative for the safety of people in the mountains.  I’m no legal eagle but I can see both sides’ perspective. Thoughts?
