On the 4th of July American’s gather en masse and look skyward for the show, in the 49th state the same can be said when word comes down that the Department of Transportation is breaking out the howitzers and daisy bells. Judging by the multitude videos of this avalanche mitigation operation yesterday in Juneau, Alaska, residents have forewarning and know just where to gather to watch the fireworks. Instead of pyrotechnics the get stampeding powder clouds…just as spectacular in my opinion. What a sight to see.
