CBS Sunday Morning interviewed various members of the ski industry to document the severity of this season’s avalanches.

This piece was clearly intended for the non-skiing community, but there’s still good information provided by members of the CAIC, Sun Valley Ski Patrol, and the former director of UAC.

You know the season has been bad when mainstream media takes 7 minutes of a nationally broadcasted program to talk about avalanches.

Let’s hope we can round out the season better than we started.

CBS Sunday Morning“In Western states this winter’s weather has produced snowpack conditions that are making avalanches even more threatening than usual. Correspondent Serena Altschul talks with experts about the conditions that create avalanches and how to make wise choices in the backcountry.”
