While we support pro callouts and good natured boasting about one’s ski prowess, a dude Rockville, Maryland, stepped over the line and into the clink Saturday night while arguing with another skier about whose the best.

The Tribune Democrat reports Juan Humberto Paz Argueta, 28, is accused to  of beating another man and bloodying a hotel room where they argued over who was a better skier. The dispute broke out at 10:35 p.m. at a Quality Inn near Seven Springs Mountain Resort where Paz Argueta had been staying with another man after spending the day skiing. The 911 caller told dispatch they believed someone was being murdered in room 169.

When the fuzz showed up, Paz Argueta answered the door, he appeared to be soaked with alcohol and heavily intoxicated. The other man had a bloodied mouth and his nose broke. Police said the bathroom toilet had been destroyed, which caused water damage and there was blood throughout the hotel room. Paz Argueta didn’t go quietly and fought off arresting officers before being subdued.

He’s been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest and criminal mischief. He was arraigned and sent to the Somerset County Jail after failing to post $30,000 bond. Unfortunately it was not reported who was the better skier.
