Blue Hills Ski Area had to evacuate skiers last night after a lift malfunction that left some on the chair for two hours.
No injuries were reported, and all skiers were either safety evacuated by ski patrol, or were able to unload once the lift began working again.
Blue Hill’s Hall double chairlift has been operating at the area since 1978, according to New England Ski History.
The incident occurred only three days after a 7-year-old boy fell 35′ from the same chairlift and was airlifted to a local children’s hospital.
