An advisory group of ski industry leaders developed the Ski Well, Be Well operational best practices based on scientific guidelines from experts. These practices can be adapted to each ski area’s unique operation, and can be scaled according to the appropriate local COVID-19 response. National Ski Areas Association, a 58-year-old trade association which has as its members the majority of the country’s 470 snow sport areas, published a set of operational best practices for the winter season, “Ski Well, Be Well,” which were share with member areas last Thursday. Its pretty much what you’d expect as far as COVID prevention and also highlights some of the inherent advantages of ski recreation during a pandemic (face coverings are already standard, mental and physical health benefits of outdoor recreation, open air transportation).
