“The Big Burn lift on Snowmass Mountain is being replaced this summer with a new one! Installed onthe mountain over 20 years ago, “The Burn” was in need of a face lift. Here is a blackhawk helicopter removing the lift towers.”

If you live in Snowmass and were wondering what that blackhawk chopper was doing buzzing around the area here’s the explanation. Skico is in the process of removing the towers to the Big Burn lift to be replaced with a high-speed detachable 6-pack. Estimated project cost….a cool $10.8 million. Not sure how much of that budget went to Jet-A but that whirlybird put in some serious work:
