Digging this free app aimed at connecting skiers and snowboarders of similar skill levels so they can make new friends while enjoying a day on the mountain but not be slowed down or overly challenged in the process.

Ski Buds was created in Whistler throughout the 2018-2019 season with input taken from people on the chairlifts, gondolas, and around the village and went live with a pilot program in Colorado in 2019.

Once you download Ski Buds, you set up your profile with your skill level from beginner all the way to backcountry and then find people who are looking to do similar runs with similar abilities. When you aren’t on the mountain there are also chat options in any of the skill level channels or mountain specific channels if located within 100 miles of the mountain. General chat, travel, and carpool are available in any location for those currently not within 100 miles of the mountain.

Maybe you’re apprehensive about riding by yourself, maybe you’re looking to make new friends or maybe you’re a seasoned local who wants to do their good deed for the day and flips the app on to show some folks around. Plenty of reasons to try it out…no risk, its free. Ski Buds is available in both the Apple and Google Play store. MORE INFO HERE
