Aspen Skiing Co. is reporting that an 83-year-old man has passed away after falling into the Snowmass Resort halfpipe. Skico vice president of communications Jeff Hanle, said today that the man succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday after falling on Monday morning.

The halfpipe at Snowmass is a superpipe with walls that are 22-feet high. The pipe has hosted a number of professional competitions.

The man’s name has not been released.
