Alta is looking at a snowy week ahead with snow forecasted for Wednesday through Friday. Snow totals could reach 15- 20″.  All this new snow is falling on a fantastic base of 109″ that was built on the 356″ of snow that has fallen so far this season.

The next storm system will affect the area Wednesday afternoon through Friday. The northern Utah mountains and some higher valleys will have the potential to see significant snowfall and strong gusty winds. – NOAA

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of snow, mainly afternoon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 11. Wind chill values as low as -16. West wind 11 to 14 mph. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Wednesday Night: Snow. Low around 11. Wind chill values as low as -8. West wind 18 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 31 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow. High near 20. Breezy, with a west wind around 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Thursday Night: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 20. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 7 inches possible.

Friday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 24. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Friday Night: A chance of snow, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16.

Saturday: A slight chance of snow after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 26.
