A-Basin's CEO Makes Announcement About Ikon and EPIC Passes For Next Season

By

Arapahoe Basin, CO made news earlier this season when they announced that they would be dropping out from their 22-year-old partnership with Vail Resorts. The announcement meant that A-basin would not be included on Vail’s EPIC pass.

At the time, many thought that this simply meant that A-basin would be jumping ship in-order to join the Ikon pass but A-Basins Chief Operating Officer Al Henceroth told the resort’s customers in an email that A-Basin has no plans to join another pass program on an unlimited basis for the 2019-2020 season. Al went on to say that the resort’s own season pass will be the only way to get unlimited access to the mountain next season.

“The Arapahoe Basin Season Pass, currently on sale for $399, will be the only unlimited season pass product for A-Basin in the 2019-20 season. If you would like to ski 8 or more days at The Basin, this is the only pass that will offer that option. We are still looking at opportunities to join other resort programs, but none of those programs will include unlimited access at A-Basin.”

Like many ski resorts across the country, A-Basin skiers and riders were feeling the strain of crowded slopes and packed parking lots. Many skiers see this move as a welcome relief from what is seeming more and more like a two pass option.

A-Basin’s season passes for the upcoming season went on sale March 5 at $399.
