Non hodgkin’s lymphoma survivor Michael Burek was teaching fellow cancer survivors to snowboard at Loveland when some sleaze stole his prized custom snowboard while they were taking a group picture.
Word got back to Never Summer who made that custom board and they made sure got Michael an exact replica. Loveland also chipped in with a set of bindings and 4 passes to ride the mountain.  It all came together with a knock at Michael’s front door and we’re happy to report he was thrilled with the replacement and grateful for the opportunity to gain exposure for the charity that he is so passionate about (explore volunteer opportunities below):

“For those of you who haven’t heard yet, my limited edition snowboard was stolen this past Saturday while I was volunteering to teach fellow cancer survivors about a sport I love so much. Thanks to Denver7, Tom Mustin Denver7, Never Summer Industries, and Loveland Ski Area, I have my board back and a heart warmed by the kindness of others.

I would also like to thank Jesseca Collins, Cody Sowa, our crew from First Descents on the mountain that day, and everyone else who made an effort to right this wrong. A special thanks to Kayla Ederveen and Britany Elizabeth for reaching out and helping make this all happen! I’m still shocked I have brand new gear to go shred with and this board now has a very special memory forever attached to it. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!”
