“We have some sad news to share. This afternoon, an adult male skier was discovered unresponsive in a tree well. Ski Patrol members arrived and performed CPR, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful. The entire Mt. Bachelor team hurts for the skier’s family and friends and we send our deepest condolences.” -Mt Bachelor

Mount Bachelor confirmed on their Facebook page a skier died after falling into a tree well Friday afternoon. KTVZ reports the skier was found in an area just west of Sparks Lake Run in an experts-only zone off the Northwest chairlift. CPR was administered but resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful. The skier was not identified.

This is the second Oregon tree well fatality in a week. On Feb. 23, a snowboarder was found dead at Timberline.
