Tahoe is off to a lackluster start to the 2018/19 ski season. Following nearly a decade of ski seasons that have been a bust the area could really use the snow gods to fire up the snow hose.

Thankfully, a much needed change in the weather patterns could be already in motion with snow forecasted from Tuesday all the way into the weekend.

Forecast for Squaw Valley, CA:

  • Tuesday Night: Rain and snow. Low around 31. Breezy, with a southwest wind 20 to 25 mph, with gusts as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Wednesday: Snow likely, mainly before 4pm. Cloudy, with a high near 32. Southwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
  • Wednesday Night: Snow, mainly after 10pm. Low around 28. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 8 to 12 inches possible.
  • Thursday: Snow. High near 32. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 10 to 14 inches possible.
  • Thursday Night: Snow, mainly before 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. Breezy.

This storm will really come down to snow levels. Hopefully snow levels stay low (fingers crossed).
