New England is currently getting hammered with snow and reports are putting totals between 3-10″ depending on the elevation. Sunday River and Sugarloaf look like the breadwinners this time around as the strong bands of snow were focused more to the east this time around.

New Hampshire also saw decent snowfalls as well as portions of northern Vermont– albeit slightly less to the west. The exception to that rule was Wildcat Mountain which saw an excess of 8″ of snow at their base elevation. That new snow is allowing the NH ski area to open for the season this Saturday!

Wildcat Mountain Snow Report + Opening Details:

Wildcat Mountain will open for the 2018/2019 winter season on Saturday, October 27th at 9am!

You read that right folks, we’re opening up this Saturday for one of our earliest opening dates ever! Our snowmaking team has been crushing it this week with their efforts and along with 10” of new snow from Mother Nature, we’ll be offering top to bottom skiing!

Here are the details. The Wildcat Express will run from 9am to 3:30pm and give you access to 2,100 vertical feet of skiing and riding on Lynx, which is the most available East of The Rockies! Click in and go. No downloading, just making turns! That’s what we’re all about here. Our pub, café, retail, and guest services will all be open and available. We will not have any ski school lessons, rentals, or demos. Additionally, please note that all terrain is marked at “experts only.” All tickets at the window and online will be $55, all ages.

If you’re anything like me, you’re getting all jittery with excitement. For us skiers and riders, this is our time of year. We reunite with friends, who become like family, to participate in a sport that has more become a lifestyle. The excitement of waking up on a powder day, the feeling of flying down the mountain, of hugging your friends after a run, or the cheers of an apres beer. For us, there is no further explanation needed. Except that in just a few days, it’s about to become our reality. So dust off those goggles and sharpen your skis because on Saturday…

I’ll see you on the mountain!
