The mayor of Val d’Isère, Marc Bauer was taken into custody last Thursday night in Colmar (Haut-Rhin) after drunkenly insulting police officers according to police sources.

La Lsace reports local police were called to a brewery in Colmar around midnight where they arrested the brewery’s manager and his son for public drunkenness. At around 2am Mayor Marc Bauer and group of people formed up a posse to go protest the arrests outside the police station (classic idea that sounded good after a few soda pops).

Its reported the mayor of Val d’Isère “copiously threatened and insulted one of the officials present.” He was promptly arrested and kept in custody until he sobered up the following day. Mayor Bauer will have his day in Colmar court in January 2019.

The public is well aware of the incident and have questions for the resort via Twitter:

-Is there a webcam where we can see the drunken mayor insult the police ??
-We are sorry for the inappropriate behavior of our elected, Thank you for your understanding.
