This post from our friends over at Silverton is bound to get you frothing for that first faceshot of the season. Ski patrol was able to get lift-accessed to some deep pockets on the upper mountain and score what look like deep pow turns.

What’s really surprising is that they are considering opening some “upper mountain terrain” if things stay snowy all week. At 13,552′, Silverton boasts the highest lift-serve terrain in North America and as such can open abnormally early if mother nature cooperates.

“Snow is in the forecast the next 4 days which may allow Silverton Mountain to open some upper mountain terrain in the coming days.”

These shots have turned into an annual tradition at Silverton and we’re stoked for our friends in the Southwest this season as an El Niño is predicted to impact the area.

Let It Snow!
