If you own a $1,000,000 Shebly Cobra do yourself a favor don’t leave Fig Newtons in it if you’re in grizz country.ย North Carolina resident Tom Cotter found that out the hard way after leaving a small pack of theย fig paste filled pastry behind the seat of his 1965 289 Shelby Cobra overnight while parked atย Alyeska Ski Resort in Alaska.
Hagerty.com reportsย local police showed up on the scene and discovered “some scruffy brown hairs” and determined a grizzly bear had ripped open the classic sports car like a can of tuna.
It turns out his buddyย Woody Woodruff had left the Fig Newtons in the car and he “Felt kind of bad, but Tom’s taking it well.”ย Newsminer reports Tom Cotter was in good spirits after the break in and knowsย “Everything can be fixed.”ย
No report on the effect on the resale value but Cotter’s Shelby will have a unique story andย “Will forever be known as The Bear Cobra.”ย
**Tom Cotter runs a sweet Youtube channel whereย travels the country in his 1939 Ford Woodie Wagon, searching for forgotten classics in barns, backyards and scrapyards. If you’re interest WATCH HERE.ย
