If you’re a freshman at CU Boulder, one of the first places you eat is Chēba Hut. It’s just what you do. The restaurant whose sandwiches bear names like “Panama Red” and “Sticky Icky” is an obvious symbol of marijuana acceptance but that same affiliation is landing the shop in hot water with the Denver Department of Excise and Licenses.

According to Westword, the Colfax location was cited for not stopping public consumption of cannabis on their porch during 4/20. Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 5 years, you know 4/20 is a ridiculous holiday in Denver. However, while everybody is smoking literally everywhere across town, a few stoners get busted by undercover Denver cops in front of Chēba Hut. Little bit of heady discrimination if you ask us…
