Chair 1 is a vert machine | Photo: Whitefish Mountain Resort

Earlier this week we reported on a Killington skier who put 6 million vert under his belt in a single season. Although we thought it was an ‘unofficial record,’ some Whitefish locals have since set the record straight. 6 million is a whole 2 million short of the actual record.

Back in 2016, Ken Jones skied a ridiculous amount of vert during one opportune season at Whitefish Mountain Resort (*night skiing was involved). After a season spent mostly lapping Chair 1, Jones tallied a total of  8,055,144′ at the ripe young age of 52.

Still, it’s hard to take away the achievement that is 6 million vert in a single season. Also, it bears mentioning that Scott Howard (The Killington vert holder) is 65 years-old. Cheers to both!
