“The equipment is tired and the railroad has run its useful self.” -New Owners

Pikes Peak’s iconic 126 year old Cog Railway might have already made its final trip up the mountain as the new owner is deliberating whether to continue operations. The new owner of the Broadmoor Hotel, is considering options but has already confirmed it will not reopen this spring.

The Broadmoor’s president and CEO Jack Damioli said, “we want to run a five-star, five diamond operation, including the railroad, we need to take a look at the next step”.
