The Hermitage Club in southern Vermont narrowly avoided having their water and sewer service cut off due to an outstanding $87,000 bill.  Boston.com reports service interruption was imminent after the club failed to meet a deadline last Wednesday.

Hermitage Club officials attribute the club’s financial problems to weather problems last winter and declining membership. The club began collecting a $10,000 membership fee to offset debts.

Finance director Chad Bullock simply says Hermitage is “working through all our payables.”

While they advertise exclusivity maybe they are a little exclusive for their own good?
