The widow of a Loveland Ski Area lift maintenance worker who died while working Thursday morning on a magic carpet ski lift is seeking answers as to what happened. Investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the accident but said it could take up to six months for the investigation to be completed.

What is known is that Adam Lee, 40, was working on a beginner lift when the accident happened. The ski area did not divulge many details saying “Ski Patrol was in the area and responded immediately. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.” The statement goes on to say, “Loveland Ski Area extends its deepest sympathies to the family and friends affected by this tragic event.”

The Lees have three children — two girls who are 12 and 9 years old, and a boy who is 5.

“He just really loved those kids,” Erika Lee told Fox Denver. “Everything was about the kids. We always did family things together.”

This summer Lee was promoted to a lift maintenance worker and the rest of the family moved to Colorado.

Loveland Ski Area only said in a statement that it was a fatal accident while Lee was working, that Ski Patrol responded immediately and the incident is being investigated.
