Since the middle of November, Niseko United is reporting a monstrous 256″ at its higher elevations. That’s over 21 FEET this season alone!
Needless to say, Japan is atop the powder pile with Europe close behind. Today, snow will be tapering off on Japan’s northern island of Hokkaido but as is normal in Japan, ‘sea effect’ pretty much renders snow forecasts useless.
“This is extra-ordinary. Snow to date of accumulation over this last 4 -5 weeks is now over the 650cm mark at upper mountain and 573cm at base.” – Ski Japan
This snowy news is enough to make Coloradans and Utah jump the gun and book a trip to the land of the rising sun. If you do decide to pull the trigger, do it with The Unofficial Networks team and Ski.com on our guided Niseko trip.
Niseko Base Depth – 225″ | Season Snowfall – 256″
