Torstein Horgmo was prompted by a twitter question while vlogging on October 30th and casually announced he is retiring from competitive snowboarding to focus on filming.
The 30 year old Norwegian always aspired to be a full time filming snowboarder but need to go the contest route to get exposure beyond his home country.
Torstein won a slew of medals at slopestyle and big air events over the years but was unfortunately sidelined before his only Olympic bid in 2014, breaking his collarbone forcing him to miss Sochi entirely.
Bummer we won’s see one of the most clutch snowboarders in world in Pyeongchang but I’m happy Torstein knows what he wants out of his snowboarding career and has stepped away from the medal chase.
