With added zones the Beavers and Steep Gullies,” the expansion will add 468 acres to the ski area, giving A-Basin over 1,000 acres of skiable terrain for the first time in its history.

“Some of the trail names like Beaver Bowl, The Steep Gullies and Christmas Trees are nomenclature that has been used to describe these same areas for years. Other names, like Loafer, Davis, Bailey Brothers and Alex, have significant historical meaning for The Basin. In the coming weeks and months, I will share specific details about what some of these names mean.” – Al Henceroth, COO Arapahoe Basin Ski and Snowboard Area

The new terrain is designated as “hike back” only until a new Beavers quad will allow for laps in that area. The construction on the new lift is set for next summer and is slated to be open for the 2018/2019 ski season.
