While the Palmer lift is currently on standby today due to an undisclosed reason, the iconic lift will continue serve up summer turns through Labor Day weekend. Copper Mountain will continue allowing skiers and riders on their ‘Big Island Park’ until October 1st

As of today, Timberline Lodge & Ski Area remains the premier skiing destination in the USA. The Mt Hood ski area continues to host skiing and riding on the Palmer Snowfield from 7am-2pm daily and will continue spinning lifts until Monday of Labor Day Weekend. Just two years ago, Mt Hood Timberline was forced to shut down on August 2nd, almost a full month before the typical Labor Day Weekend closing date.
“The Big Island Park is created using the leftover snow of the Superpipe at the base of Copper Mountain.”
In Colorado, Copper Mountain continues to host jibbers looking to slide rails all summer in their ‘Big Island Park,’ which is open Friday-Sunday from 930am-230pm.
