Basalt Bike & Ski is going to be filling out quite the insurance claim after a group of thieves nabbed 7 mountain bikes worth $62,000 from the Carbondale-based bike shop.

The Aspen Times is reporting that the theft occurred in the early morning hours on July 29th. A door was pried open as a result of the burglary and police are currently on the look out for the missing bikes and the perpetrators responsible. A single bike was left in a nearby ditch and might be the one piece of evidence that could lead to the criminals’ arrest.
