The jet stream has once again dropped low in the west allowing all the moist energy from the Pacific to parade through the upper elevations giving the mountains another heavy dose of the white stuff.

Over the next 5 days expect 3 distinct storm systems to make their way through the western states. California is expected to take the brunt of the precipitation, with 2-4 feet forecasted in the next 5 days. The storms will dry out somewhat before hitting the Rockies and hopefully drop another 1-2 feet of snow to add to already unbelievable January.

Thanks to On The Snow’s meteorologist Chris Tomer for the snow-centric forecasting. Tomer is the man!
