In a classic case of too much of good thing, Crested Butte is closed for operations due to too much snow. They made the announcement via their snowtotal webcam with the hashtag #burythebutte.

The Denver Post is reporting Crested Butte got a state leading 47 inches of snow last week and an additional 18 inches by midday today. Resort spokeswoman Erica Mueller explained the decision was made because lifts were stalling, the mechanics who fix the stalled lifts were getting their snowmobiles stuck and ski patrol was shutting down all the steeps as avalanche danger was widespread. No word on when they will reopen but we will keep you posted.
