After a slow kick off to the 2016/2017 ski season, snowfall has picked up across the Western USA with nearly every state boasting a snowpack that is above the average for this time of year.

Right now, the biggest winners are Oregon and Utah— who are both boasting snowpacks that range between 110-149% of their average for today, December 22. The losers include northern Montana, the Sierra, and eastern New Mexico– all of which are hosting below average snowpacks. That said, we’ve got some snow on the horizon so cross your fingers, cross your toes, and pray for snow.

  • Mt Bachelor
  • Tetons
  • Wasatch + Uinta
  • Northern Colorado
  • Stevens Pass/Crystal, Washington

Losers:

  • New Mexico
  • Southwest Colorado
  • The Sierra
  • Montana
