A 14 year old snowboarder was injured Saturday after falling 8 meters from a Whistler chairlift according to the CBC. His fall was partially broken by a fireman’s net but he still hit with a thud.

“According to a statement released by Whistler Blackcomb the boy did not have the restraining bar lowered and was left hanging on to the seat after slipping out of the chair.”

It is not yet clear what caused him to slip and dangle from the Emerald lift at Whistler Blackcomb .  He was taken to Whistler Medical Centre for lower back injuries.
