Thomas Ertz, 28, and Joan Noble, 35, were sentenced to three years probation for their involvement in the murder of Carl Woolwine, 50 at Alta Sierra resort in California. The shooter, Bobby Rhynes 43, has not been sentenced yet.

Rhynes maintains that he never meant to shoot Woolwine in the head, instead he wanted to merely scare him by shooting over his head. The four people were working in a maintenance building at the resort prepping for the opening of the season when the incident occurred. It has been reported  Woolwine made off color sexual remarks to the Joan Noble. Thomas Ertz was dating Joan Noble at the time. The shooter was the boss of the other three.

The body was found in a shallow grave dug at the ski resort after cops followed leads generated from a search of the victims house.
