Snowfall PotentialImages from Weather.com

Confidence is growing that a powerful winter storm will be impacting the East late this week into the weekend.

As it stands, the storm will be more powerful near the coast, hitting the big five cities of the Northeast corridor – Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, and Boston. Moderate to heavy snow and strong winds will bring the first major winter blast of the season for many of these metropolitan areas.

THERE IS GROWING POTENTIAL FOR A MAJOR WINTER STORM FRIDAY NIGHT INTO SUNDAY. THIS STORM COULD PRODUCE HEAVY SNOW…STRONG WINDS…AND SIGNIFICANT COASTAL FLOODING. NOAA

The storm is still developing making forecasting difficult but as of now, the snowfall and high winds will start Thursday and will last through the weekend. Depending on the storm’s track, intensity and duration, it could cause coastal flooding thanks in part to a full moon over the weekend.
