Christmas is upon us and although that means long work days for ski bums across the country (maybe not the east coast), it doesn’t mean Christmas POW is unattainable. So for those skiers who can find an hour ski break or the weekend warriors that have battled day in and day out with the promise of a holiday, here are the resorts with forecasted faceshots on December 25, 2015. Hint: Head West…

5) Mt. Rose

Yesterday, Mt. Rose opened “The Chutes” for the first time this year and needless to say, conditions looked epic. Although a warmer precipitation pattern is projected to move into the Tahoe region during the Christmas holiday, Mt. Rose’s benefits from being the highest ski area in the Tahoe region. When others get rain, Mt. Rose can get blower and lots of it.

4) Sun Valley

Sun Valley is having a ridiculous start to the season and with all the recent snow, coverage is looking pretty… pretty good. Couple that with 60% chance of snow showers 10 days out and we have a good bet for getting pitted after opening presents.

3) Steamboat Springs

Steamboat is flying under the radar… Yet again. Not only has Steamboat already surpassed the 100″ mark for the season but the resort is projected to get more this week and all the way through Christmas. Combine that with cold temps and you’re going to have a good time…

2) Mt. Baker

188″ has already fallen on Mt. Baker this season and if you’re in the Washington area, you’d be out of your mind not to take the trip up to Baker. So far, this year is one of their best starts to a season during an El Niño year. Oh yeah, it’s supposed to snow all next week too (including Christmas).

With cold temperatures on deck accompanied by snowfall all week-long, North America’s biggest ski area is the place to be on December 25th. With new terrain opening daily, it might just be the Christmas to open up AIR JORDAN and SEND IT…
