Back side of Mackenzie Peak = the real mountains
the back side of Mackenzie peak

Revelstoke is an impressive mountain:  The views are catchy, the zones are challenging, and the vertical footage is ridiculous.  This place is a real snow slider’s mountain.  There’s no terrain park, no messing around;  just top to bottom skiing, hikes to quality terrain, and more vertical than you’ll be comfortable with.

REVELSTOKE CONDITIONS TODAY:

– The morning started semi-clear with light wind

– Surface conditions in bounds were firm and chalky with a few new centimeters of new snow on top

– Flat light, wind, and snow moved in around 10:30am and created tough visibility conditions

– Winter is coming…

Revy groomers were rippin’ today

WHERE THE SKIING WAS BEST TODAY:

– The North Bowl was skiing well with consistently chalky conditions but flat light

– The Snow Rodeo groomer was fast and fun with rollers and small hits all over

CROWD FACTOR:

– Very few people were here today.  Especially considering that it’s a Saturday during the Xmas break

– According to our new local buddy, Angus, this place is only ever crowded during Xmas week, and even then, the lines are only 5 minutes long

– We don’t think it ever really gets crowded here

Don’t eat yellow ice.

OVERALL:

– Tough visibility today and pretty firm snow

– Groomers were crazy fun and frighteningly long

– Some new snow will help this place a ton as according to locals, it hasn’t snowed big in about 2 weeks
