It’s snowing across Tahoe region with as much as 2 feet predicted for the ridge tops of Sugar BowlSquaw Valley.

NOAA – EARLY SEASON WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT NORTHERN CALIFORNIA AND NORTHERN NEVADA TODAY. THIS WILL BRING GUSTY WINDS…RAIN AND SNOW TO THE REGION. MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN THE EASTERN SIERRA FROM LAKE TAHOE NORTH INTO WESTERN LASSEN COUNTY…WITH LESSER ACCUMULATIONS IN THE HIGH SIERRA OF MONO COUNTY. THIS STORM HAS POTENTIAL TO IMPACT MOUNTAIN ROADS AND PASSES WITH SLICK AND ICY CONDITIONS.

THE WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM PDT TUESDAY.  

* TIMING: HEAVIEST SNOWFALL EXPECTED THIS MORNING WITH A SECONDARY   BAND TUESDAY MORNING.  

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 10 TO 18 INCHES ALONG THE SIERRA CREST   ABOVE 7000 FEET…4 TO 8 INCHES BELOW 7000 FEET.

* WINDS: SOUTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH. RIDGE   GUSTS OVER 100 MPH.

* SNOW LEVELS: AT LAKE TAHOE LEVEL.

* IMPACTS: HEAVY SNOW WILL CREATE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS   MONDAY AND MONDAY NIGHT AROUND THE LAKE TAHOE BASIN AND   SIERRA PASSES.

Tonight: 3 to 7 inches possible.

Tomorrow: 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tuesday Night:  1 to 3 inches possible.

Wednesday: 1 to 3 inches possible.

Wednesday Night: Little or no snow accumulation 

TOTAL: 13 to 27 inches possible.
