People have mixed thoughts of Bear Grylls, and ‘sellout’ is the most common criticism. Say what you want, but the man’s name is Bear and he does some bad ass things, this paragliding world record among them. The video is a little corny and has a completely misleading title, but hey, its gotta appeal to a larger audience of docile and fearful creatures, and dumbing down extreme feats is usually how to accomplish this appeal. This also happened a while ago so you may have seen it already.

Otherwise, the stunt itself is pretty gnarly. Simple concept: strap a fan to your back and paraglide as high as possible. But claims of 200 mph winds and -100 degree temperatures give insight into the true difficulty. All said, Bear smashed the old world record and then probably ate a dead sheep eyball and chased it with piss in celebration. The dude is tough.
