An officially sanctioned SnowFest event, The Cornice Cantina Sun Deck Ski Race was held on Tuesday. Jumbo from the Cantina put up two $50 bar tabs for the fastest male and female patio skiers at the bar Tuesday afternoon.
The objective of the race was to don the fart bag, helmet, gloves, boots and skis, navigate the obstacles (circling the kegs), consume the mandatory beer placed on the second barrel and scoot back to the starting mat in the fastest time possible without loosing any equipment or spilling any suds.
Temperatures plummeted after the sun dipped behind the mountain and a fresh layer of snow on the course made for slick conditions. Standouts of the competition were Howie Pheltersnatch with his innovative reverse helmet technique, Dan for his dedication in stripping down to his shorts for rapid one piece entry, and winner Rob Thomas with a record time of 42 seconds!
If you couldn’t make it out for the Sun Deck Ski Race be sure to check out the Bloody Marry Master’s Competition presented by Belvedere Vodka. Today at the Cornice Cantina from 4:00 -7:00.
