Team Unofficial Whistler raced hard in the Jose Cuervo Peak to Valley on Friday and Saturday, but real racers thwarted our hopes of a podium. However, “Win or lose we always booze” might be the motto of this particular weekend race. Saturday night was a great time with great people in the Roundhouse Lodge, but that did not change the fact that the unbeatable sunny and warm conditions for the race days also ravaged the snow conditions for the rest of the mountain.
Today:
Sun and warm temperatures were forecast for today as the inversion continued. One of those predictions came true. It was indeed warm. A bit cloudy, but certainly no threat of weather.
The snow was mostly rock hard. Spankey’s was no different and neither was Hawaii Five-O. Fast groomers and some friendly racing competition was the way to go for today.
Best Run:
Ridge runner and the skier-X course on Blackcomb
The Future Holds:
Clear for the next week with perhaps a slight dusting this Wednesday, but nothing to get excited about it seems.
