14 cm of fresh snow snuck into town last night. Whistler spent the evening watching it rain down low and those who saw the wee hours of the night can attest that it wasn’t snowing much then either. But it is a fact that entirely different climate zones exist between the village and the Peak and this could explain how 14 cm of smokey fresh-n-light “jump into me” powder snuck onto the mountain.

The folks at Unofficial Whistler are wary of 20 cm forecasts this season, because it seems that a forecast of any kind only scares that storm away. That being said, and having just returned from Denver and SIA: the most exhausting schmooze-center on Earth; Unofficial Whistler woke up too late to be proud of the day and drove to the wrong mountain off the bat. Once on Whistler and Peak Chair however, the remnants of a powder morning were seen everywhere. Luckily a fun video came of too few laps; a video that can show some of the fluffy goodness covering the mountain today. Enjoy.

sun coming out

Today:

Became absolutely bluebird around noon with temps just below freezing, and that’s really all you need to know. simply put, a beautiful day

Best Runs:

Peak Chair was beautiful, even after everyone had left. Spankey’s on Blackcomb was also bottomless and nobody thought to go there all day.

Forecast:

It seems that no snow is in the works for at least a week. Hope you all got a few great days in from the past storms.
