IT’s Official, Mt. baker ski area had to close today due to warm weather and siginificant rainfall. It will resume regular mid-week operation tomorrow Thursday Jan. 5. The temps really spiked up today sending the whole mountain running downhill. But checkout the afternoon snow report :
Tuesday, I skied all day in the rain/snow precip mix we all love so much at mt. baker. It was a fun day with tips getting crossed, some good headers into the mush, and an overall soggy venture. Looks like the snow is coming back a bit! Check out the forecast:
With some decent accumulations coming along with these wet-storms we should see some decent skiing and clearing on Friday. Cross your fingers the next couple of weeks, hopefully Mt. Baker won’t shut for a while, until then we’ll keep skiing in the rain!
