G3 Manhattan 190 Ski Review – Since it hasn’t been snowing very much I have been ripping on the 190 G3 Manhattan. With really nice early rise in the tip, a wide shovel, loads of camber, and a tail made to go to the moon, this is the underdog of the season. Light, fast, and always engaging this ski goes from straight-line bad-ass to carvy tech turns on the worst of conditions. In the powder this ski acts like a competition ski on steroids, it floats, and stomps everything, super stiff to start and then molds to a nice even flex pattern as you break in the ski.
I give this ski a 9.7/10. It flat out rips, skinning is really fast, light, and it may have a skinny underfoot but this ski makes turns with the “big boys” and excels past the slower fatter ski.
Combining a poplar core, titanal decking, sandwich ski construction, and subtle yet affective early rise the Manhattan is the big mountain slayer you want in your ski quiver. When the turns matter and constant edge control in the mountains is needed order up these boys, great edging, stiffness on the steeps and a very nimble swing weight allows freedom to lay into this ski.
