It was only 6″ that fell, but the first day of winter was one of the best powder days of the year. On the upper mountain (Thunder and Sublette), the snow came in well and filled all the troths in between the bumps.  That resulted in some of the first face shots of the season. There still in not enough snow up there to get a groomer anywhere but R-trail, and that is going off.  The snow is still super thin, it is not a great time to bring the new boards high.

As for the AV side of the mountain, sharp edges really help carving down the fast groomers.  It seems now the softest trails on the mountain are off of Casper lift.  The new snow from nature and the snow guns resulted in the best destination to really lay the edge in. Just to be aware, this side of the hill is the busiest and the holiday crowds are really starting to show.

This weeks snow was very helpful, but it looks like another high pressure has decided to make Jackson its home. Might as well enjoy the sun while it is here. Vitamin D is good for you and for sure the snow will arrive before too long.
