Ski with Caution

Winter is back today in Little Cottonwood Canyon with Alta and Snowbird picking up at least a few inches  of snow before noon today. These shots are from about 10:30am today and I would guess that about 3-4 inches were sticking to the rails around the pool at the Cliff Lodge. With more snow on order for later this week we could all be skiing again this weekend!

Town of Alta Sign

The Town of Alta sign is really cool looking. How come I don’t remember this sign at all? It is new? Am I going crazy? Either way it is good to see it with some white stuff on top.

Snowbird Entry 2

Entry 2 was picking up snow hard and heavy at 10:30am today. It looks like the resorts might be getting some help from Mother Nature. The snowmaking efforts put a few snow whales here and there, but they are going to need much more of this to get things open on time.

Cliff Lodge Pool

The Cliff Pool was looking steamy and inviting. Chickadee was picking up some sick pow and looked pretty inviting too, except for the bridge and giant ditch that are still poking out a bit.

LCC Road

It was snowing all the way to the base of the canyon and the road was covered from about The Seven Sisters up. The trees down low were looking hot and sexy with a light cream coating.

Ski with Caution

With another storm forecast for Thursday/Friday I would expect people to be out shredding this weekend at Alta and Brighton. I would suggest being careful, since I know of at least one skier that was injured during the last pre-season storm session. The Winter will be long and she isn’t even here yet…
