How do some of the best Squaw skiers and riders cut their teeth getting to know the best inbounds terrain on the planet? They do it right, they do it minimal, and they work at Squaw.  Can you ever really claim being a “ski bum” if you didn’t work at your home resort for at least a season?

While that might be a topic for another post, of current interest is Squaw will be hosting their annual job fair on Friday, November 11th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The fair will be held in the Palisades Conference Room. If you’re looking to score a free pass and work on the mountain this winter the job  fair will let you talk to exactly who you need to to land a job doing just about anything that helps make Squaw function as the top-notch ski resort it is.

The thing is maybe you’re not chasing the dreams of the dirt-bag, maybe you’ve never been skiing or riding, but you want to work at Squaw. No worries. Not every  positions is based on your ability to ski or ride. Also, beyond a potential season pass, you’ll get other perks like discounts on food, discounts on retail goods, complimentary lift tickets for your friends and family, and if you don’t shred, complimentary lessons. Not bad, huh?

The positions you’ll be able to interview for are both part-time and full-time. They include but are not limited to terrain parks, culinary services, rental services, snowsports instructors, parking, product sales and services, transportation, ski patrol, lift operations, grooming, retail, and security.

One major thing to note is that the job fair is by invitation only. That means you should call and make an appointment before showing up on November 11th, although walk-ins will be allowed. If you want a job at Squaw this winter go to their employment page online and check out the list of open positions. You can even complete an application online. Once you get that ball rolling department managers will get a hold of you about specific interview times. If you have any questions about the process call Squaw’s HR Department at (530) 452-7112.
