Mount Baker...or Alta? Powder Magazine October Cover. photo: powder’s facebook Should be coming out around Sept. 15thish...

Powder Magazine has been giving a lot of love to Mount Baker in the past years. Namely because Grant Grunderson, the hottest photographer in the industry, lives there.  (see Mt. Baker on cover of Powder Oct. 2010)

Grant had the cover of the September, 2011 issue of Powder.  I know this Oct. 2011 cover isn’t Grant’s, but was the photo taken at Mt. Baker or Alta?

The Bent Chetlers are getting a ton of love in the industry as well, huh?  They got the September Cover Freeskier (or so I thought, I was wrong, you can clearly see “line” on these skis).  Been seeing them everywhere, as I have?

Is Baker the snowiest mountain? According to their marketing numbers…YES.  But, It’s sort hard to believe that 14,411’ Mt. Rainier, just south of Baker got less than Baker did that El Niño year

MT BAKER RECORD:

1,140 inches (95 feet) / 2,896 cm (29 meters) of snowfall during the 1998-99 season.
