In 2004 Josh Dueck, a young Canadian freeskier, was working as head coach for the Silver Star Freestyle Ski Club in Vernon when he overshot a demonstration jump and dropped 100 feet breaking his back. Within just nine months of the crash Josh was back on snow.
Since his return to the sport Josh has won gold in the 2009 World Championships, silver at the 2010 Vancouver Paralympics, and became the US Champion in Alaska this year. While up in Alaska this year Josh also realized his dream of shredding big AK backcountry lines captured along with his story for this upcoming film.
The Freedom Chair will premiere in Montreal at the IF3 International Freeski Film Festival, September 15 2011.
