Robert “Sandy” Vietze, 18, a resident of Warren, Vt.,  got hammered on a recent overnight flight from Portland to New York. He’s no longer a member of the U.S. Ski Team’s development group because he reportedly urinated on an 11-year-old girl, mistaking her for the airline bathroom. WTF Sandy? How many beers do you think he had?

Apparently Sandy told the police that he had had eight drinks. Maybe that’d do it if you were 18, but maybe he meant to say 18 drinks? We’re not sure, but mistaking an 11 year old for a bathroom? Now that takes a little somethin’-somethin’. Regardless of the amount, it’s the action that took place. The father of the girl that Sandy urinated on was in the bathroom with his other child when the incident occurred. Reportedly he came out of the bathroom and found Sandy in the act. Yikes!

It’s a shame that this has cost Sandy his spot on the U.S. development team. Sandy was returning home to Vermont after a U.S. Ski Team training camp at Timberline ski area on Mount Hood, Oregon when the incident occurred.

Sandy had been on a roll in the ski world, which is why he had held a spot on the development team. He stood on several FIS race podiums in 2011, including placing second in downhill at the junior nationals, as well as in slalom during an NCAA race, respectively. Sandy was also a member of the 2008 U.S. delegation that raced at the Whistler Cup.

However, U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association officials have confirmed that Sandy has been dismissed from the team. His profile has been stripped from the website of  the team, and also from the Green Mountain Valley School (GMVS), which is a prestigious ski school based out of Killington, Vt. Sandy had recently graduated from the GMVS.
