Today, the 2nd day of Spring, we saw winter-like conditions at Stowe! Last night Stowe received 6″ – 8″ of new snow which made for a GREAT day today. It felt like no one was on the mountain and there were freshies everywhere. I think people are beginning to get over all of this snow since it’s Spring time, but that’s fine by me! Even popular spots like Kitchen Wall were fresh most of the way. The new snow was kind of heavy and wet in spots, but that actually helped you out. It allowed you to float on top and not sink in too far, but you could still get those pow turns! We hit spots on Mansfield and Spruce and most of my runs today were 80 to 100% fresh the whole way down. It was a surprisingly great day at Stowe and it looks like the conditions will stay good for the next couple of days!
